Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Policy

The Ife Journal of Technology (IJT) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality and integrity. To achieve this, all submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough peer review process. Here are the key elements of our peer review policy:

Initial Assessment:
Upon submission, each manuscript is reviewed by the editorial team to ensure it aligns with the journal’s focus and standards. This initial assessment includes a plagiarism check. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria will be returned to the authors without further review.

Double-Blind Review:
IJT utilizes a double-blind review process to maintain the confidentiality and impartiality of the review. In this system, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other, ensuring unbiased and objective evaluations.

Selection of Reviewers:
Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise and knowledge in the relevant field. Our reviewers are experienced academics and professionals who provide valuable insights and constructive feedback on the manuscripts.

Evaluation Criteria:
Reviewers assess the manuscripts based on several key factors:
- Novelty and significance of the research
- Clarity and coherence of the writing
- Soundness and rigor of the methodology
- Validity and relevance of the findings
- Overall contribution to the field
- Compliance with ethical standards

Review Process Duration:
IJT aims to complete the review process within 1 to 2 months from the date of submission. This timeframe encompasses the initial editorial assessment, the peer review, and any subsequent revisions required.

Reviewer Responsibilities:
Reviewers are expected to provide detailed and constructive feedback to help authors enhance their manuscripts. They must uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and avoiding any conflicts of interest.

Author Responsibilities:
Authors must guarantee that their submissions are original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. They are responsible for addressing the reviewers' comments and making the necessary revisions in a timely manner.

Ethical Standards:
IJT is committed to the principles of academic integrity. Any violations, such as plagiarism or concurrent submissions to multiple journals, will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript and may result in further actions.
